Government of India has declared 2010-2020 as the ‘Decade of Innovations’. Various ministries of the Government of India were advised by Mr. Sam Pitroda, Adviser to Prime Minister on Public Information Infrastructure and Innovations to form Sectoral Innovation Council (SInC) in order to chart out action plans for fostering innovations in their respective sectors. Accordingly, Department of Telecom (DoT) constituted a Telecom Sector Innovation Council (TSIC) with representation of all the stake holders. Mr. VVR Sastry, Executive Director, C-DOT was named the Chairman. As advised by PIII and DoT, discussions were held with all the stake holders and a Roadmap document prepared. Now, on the advice of Mr. Sam Pitroda, we are putting the Roadmap document titled ‘Report on Telecom Sector Roadmap for Innovation 2010-2020’ on the web to get inputs from any stakeholder who has views / ideas / suggestions to make in respect of Innovations in the telecom sector.
